Other polyphenols
Tea, coffee, cocoa, olives… the great everyday sources of polyphenols.
- Why?
- 90 to 95% of polyphenols escape digestion and reach the colon, where the microbiota converts them into active molecules.
- Tip
- Loose-leaf tea, filter coffee, chocolate at 85% or more: the format matters as much as the dose.
- Counting
- Drinks and foods whose value lies in polyphenols: tea, coffee, very dark cocoa, infusions, colorful spices. Red wine ticks; white and rosé, far poorer in polyphenols, do not.
